I always liked the saying, "My work speaks for itself."
However, why not share some words from people I've done work for.

NOTE: I also have an "A" rating on Angie's List.

A special note from John at bottom of page.

Thanks John.

I have to say that I am so grateful for such a beautiful job with the steps.  I have been telling Brad how impressed I am with the work all of you do, the professionalism you all have, and just how incredibly nice you all are.

I have had experiences in the past with people working on my house on various things, and I have never received so much quality work and respect than from all of you.  I have had those steps in such a horrible condition for many years, and now was able to deal with them.  It is very significant for me to finally have a front entrance that isn't crumbling and falling apart.  I tend to use my house as a metaphor for my life, so this is huge to have it fixed and done so well.  Thanks so much for doing it.  I know it was challenging, and I thank you so much for doing it.

Peace,

Monica

Dear John,

We received a call from Elizabeth M. praising your services to her. She said she was very pleased with your work and would recommend you to any one.

Thank you for a great job.

John helped me out with two relatively small jobs. Yet, even though they were small jobs, John was responsive, timely and entirely affordable. I have his website bookmarked and will definitely contact him first when another job — big or small — comes up in my home.

John,

Thank you so much for hooking up my new dryer. Since I haven't been a resident of NE for very long, I was so happy to receive the flyer from you in the mail last week regarding garage straightening services. I was even happier to go to your website and find you have many other handyman skills.

I was so impressed with your ability and willingness to work me into your schedule so quickly the day I contacted you about my dryer. Of course, the job ended up being more complex than originally expected and I could not be happier with your thoroughness and honesty through the process. I appreciated you using some perfectly good parts from the previous dryer set up in the new set up - ultimately saving me some money on parts. And I could not be more grateful that you corrected the unseen and somewhat dangerous venting system the previous owners had in place. Who would have guessed that all the lint was not making its way outside, rather it was filling the space between the wall and exterior of the house?

I appreciate the care you took to clean all of that out, and put a safe and complete vent in place. And that you spent 2 and a quarter hours on a Friday night to do it!

I can tell you with all certainty that I will absolutely not hesitate for a moment to contact you when I need ANYTHING else done in my house. And I will recommend you to any and all others who are in need of any kind of help with their house.

Thanks again,

Pam

What a blessing that you were recommended to me, I had lots of drain problems, shower, laundry tubs, bathroom sink, kitchen sink, all are working beautiful now. John thank you so much. I have your card on file, if I need work done on my new place, you will be called. Your prices are great also.

Thank you again.

As a single woman with a home of my own for years, I have had my share of handyman experiences.  I am pleased to say that the search may be over, since John Schulte is the answer to a prayer.  He is that rare find:  honest, dependable, has fair pricing, cleans up after his work, arrives on time, and doesn’t leave until the job’s complete.  If there’s a part of the job that doesn’t need his expertise, he’ll teach you how to do it (free training).  You can tell he does his work with love and precision.   And besides all that, he’s a good guy.  I’ve never felt so satisfied writing out a check for services received.

Sadly, I'm about a 2 on a scale of 10 when it comes to handy. So when we need some help around the house, we don't even think twice before we say "Let's call John!" Yup, it's true, John's a 10+ -- he's knowledgeable, friendly, patient, hardworking, prompt, reasonably priced and does great work -- what more could a middle-class homeowner want? And talk about versitle. . .recently he replaced sagging plaster and reconstructed a new kitchen countertop. . . all of it, top-notch work. (Sure wish I could clone him so he could help with my cabin up north.) If you need a handyman, choose John -- you won't find a more reliable and skilled person!

I had the privilege of meeting John Schulte through his work with NECP, NorthEast Citizen Patrol, a community organization that engages its citizens to ensure safety in our neighborhoods. I heard John speak at events. I continue to be convinced that primarily and constitutionally, John is a highly ethical and principled person.

When I learned that he is a Handy-Man capable of doing any job in your home or garage, I turned to John for help. Wouldn’t you want to hire someone to work on your property who is fundamentally ethical and principled? Think about it, if someone is advertising their handy-man skills, then there is truth in their skill. Frankly, I do not want a handy person in my house if he/she is not ethical. The point is, I trust John implicitly.

While I was vacationing for three weeks in Europe this past summer, John spent three weeks renovating a disgusting room in the basement of my house. I gave him his own key for him to come and go as his schedule permitted. All that time, I felt completely safe knowing he had a key to my house. He did what he could to curb expenses, foremost he was concerned about my pocket book rather than what he would be earning.

In a nutshell, John is professional, keeps his word, keeps costs down by asking you to engage in the process, is ethical, and of course, does a great performance.

Best of all, I need some work to be done this summer. I will only consider one person—John Schulte. Once you find a “good thing,” why continue shopping? To John—please don’t get so popular and busy that you have to put me on a waiting list for months on end.

I contacted John based on a referral from a conversation I was having with an acquaintance on my way to work while riding on a NE metro bus. So I called him to arrange a time to help me.

He showed up on time, assessed the situation and went right to work without wasting any time. John is thorough and his work is top notch! I couldn't be more pleased.

John is willing to share his knowledge and provide "how to" instructions to help save time and money.  He helped me remove my kitchen sink drain assembly and gave me some direction on purchasing a new one.  I installed the sink drain and re-connected the pipes.  Hey, it works!

Thanks John for being a remarkable handyman with a friendly professional approach to solving our neighborhood fix-it type problems.  You're a gem to the NE community and rate right up there with those guys from "This Old House!"  With an old Victorian house, you can bet I'll be calling again.

"John successfully fixed a complicated problem in our old Minneapolis home, providing us with a much needed and affordable service. He's our official handyman now!"

John,

Thanks for your great work (again) on our house. You are a wonderful asset to have in the neighborhood and with an aging home nearing the century mark, you're sure to hear from us again.

On a neighbor's recommendation, I called John about a couple of things. He came to our house right away, fixed them quickly and efficiently, and also gave me some ideas for solving another little household problem.

A week later, we had another problem--the toilet in our second-floor bathroom stopped working as the flush mechanism had broken. It looked tricky, so I called John. He gave me some instructions on the phone and I was able to fix the toilet myself! It was very nice of him to save us money.

I needed to sell my mothers house and the realtor outlined a variety of things that had to be fixed before it was shown to prospective buyers.

My friend recommended John as a good handyman to call. I did and he came out the same day (on time) and went right to work on fixing our pressing problems. I found John very professional and efficient in the work I needed done. Everything was fixed for a lot less than I was expecting.

I recommend John very highly. He’s a gentleman and very civic minded.

Mr. Schulte,
I would like to thank you for your quick response and thorough job you completed for me in that plugged drain emergency I had last week. I was impressed with your knowledge of the situation and beyond the standard work you did to ensure that the problem would not come back anytime soon.

Thanks again for your valuable assistance.

As a senior citizen of NE, I find it very comforting that I can call John to help me fix things around the house. Being able to depend on John means I don’t need to let strangers in my house.  John has installed new deadbolts and door handles, a new easy to read thermostat for my heat, and a few other odds and ends. John is always my first call.

John has done numerous small, medium and large jobs around my house, including a major renovation of my 90 year-old garage.  The garage was quite a large project, but John was thorough and the results are great!  What used to be a "slanty shanty" eyesore on my property is now a fully-functioning asset that looks 100% better.  His rates are reasonable, he has solutions to old home problems, and he delivers what he promises.  Overall John is helpful, friendly, and does a great job.

Over the last few years John Schulte has done numerous projects on our rambler home. He removed the deteriorated wood paneling on one side of the house and restored it to the precise original look.

He has replaced our rotted fence and repaired our deck, and gate. He also installed our fireplace doors, and closet organizers.

On another occasion, he and an assistant completely tiled our bathroom, and fitting new cabinets into place.

He also installed our security camera, and has fixed/installed numerous other little things around the house for us.

Over the course of 40 years, I have observed dozens of professional workmen and can say without fear of contradiction that John is the best of them. He is terrific at producing solutions to those engineering problems that seem to always crop up with every project. He makes sure the client understands what will be done, he works fast, and it is always done "right."

In my view you cannot afford to hire anyone else.

We have hired John for a variety of jobs around our duplex including:

- Replace broken plaster with drywall
- Patch masonry
- Remove a dangerous sheet metal overhang and build a new awning

We also had John show us how to tuck point our limestone foundation so that we could do it ourselves.

John is friendly, patient, personal and easy to communicate with. He is reliable and knows how do fix just about anything.

Personal note:
In 2006 I was named the Volunteer of the Year by the Northeast Chamber of Commerce.

In 2007 I was named Community Ambassador by the Northeast Chamber of Commerce.

I am the founder of the Northeast Citizen Patrol (NECP) http://www.EastsideDefender.com and I also started the Minneapolis Guardian Angels safety patrol. The people in the red berets.

I'm also a 10 year member of the Northeast Minneapolis Lion's Club

What I want to emphasize with this is that I'm not going to jerk you around on your repairs, and you can feel confident and safe allowing me in your home, as there are a lot of fly-by-nights and other undesirables doing handyman and remodel work in Minneapolis. In fact, there are a number of customers that just leave me their keys to go in and get the job done while they’re at work.

When you hire me I'll tell you like it is, and I'll tell you what it takes to do the job right.

If I can’t do the job right, I won’t do it at all. You can count on it.
